Fighter Badges

Badges are special designations that highlight notable career milestones or current status. A fighter can hold multiple badges simultaneously (e.g., a Legend who is also Inactive).
Legend
The Legend badge is a permanent honor recognizing all-time great careers. There are four paths to earning it — a fighter only needs to qualify through one.
Path 1: Multi-Division Champion
Automatic Legend status. Any fighter who has held championships in two or more weight classes is instantly recognized as a Legend.
Path 2: Dominant Champion
For current champions who have proven sustained dominance at the top:
| Requirement | Threshold |
|---|---|
| UFC Fights | 12+ |
| Title Defenses | 3+ |
| Dominance Score | 75+ |
| Current Champion | Yes |
Path 3: Elite Longevity
For fighters with long careers of sustained excellence, even without a title. Must also meet one specialist criterion:
| Requirement | Threshold |
|---|---|
| UFC Fights | 15+ |
| Dominance Score | 78+ |
| Win Rate | 70%+ |
Specialist criteria (any one):
- Sig strikes diff: +12 per fight (exceptional striker)
- Knockdown diff: +0.4 per fight (knockout artist)
- Takedown diff: +1.5 per fight (elite wrestler)
- Control time diff: +100 seconds per fight (dominant grappler)
- Finish rate: 45%+ (elite finisher)
Path 4: Former Champion Legacy
For retired or former champions who left a lasting mark:
| Requirement | Threshold |
|---|---|
| UFC Fights | 12+ |
| Title Defenses | 5+ |
| Dominance Score | 73+ |
| Title History | Must have held a title |
Prospect
The Prospect badge identifies newcomers who show exceptional early promise. It's a temporary designation — fighters naturally outgrow it as they accumulate fights.
| Requirement | Threshold |
|---|---|
| UFC Fights | 1-3 |
| Win Rate | 80%+ |
| Dominance Score | 65+ |
Must also meet one exceptional criterion:
- Finish rate: 50%+ (finisher)
- Sig strikes diff: +15 per fight (dominant striker)
- Dominance score: 70+ (all-around dominant)
Upcoming Champion
The Upcoming Champion badge flags Elite-tier fighters who appear to be on a championship trajectory. This badge is removed if the fighter wins a title (they no longer need the "upcoming" label).
| Requirement | Threshold |
|---|---|
| Current Tier | Elite |
| UFC Fights | 8+ |
| Dominance Score | 75+ |
| Recent Win Rate | 60%+ |
| Current Champion | No |
Inactive
The Inactive badge is applied to any fighter who hasn't competed in 730 days (2 years) or more. It serves as a status indicator rather than a performance judgment. The badge is automatically removed when the fighter books or completes a new fight.
Badge Combinations
Common combinations include:
- Legend + Inactive: A retired great (e.g., a former dominant champion who hasn't fought in 3+ years)
- Elite + Upcoming Champion: A top contender on the verge of a title shot
- Low + Prospect: A newcomer with a dominant debut (1-0 with an impressive performance)
Badges that cannot coexist:
- Upcoming Champion + Current Champion (upcoming is removed when they win the title)
- Prospect + Legend (fight count thresholds don't overlap: 1-3 vs 12+)
